Yes. To preserve the tranquil atmosphere and historic integrity engineered by Mimar Sinan, we operate strictly by appointment. We highly recommend securing your session 2-3 days in advance.
Süleymaniye Hamam is deeply rooted in family traditions. During our primary operating hours, we exclusively host couples and families in a shared, communal setting. Single-gender reservations or individual slots during these hours are not accommodated.
To maintain a serene, quiet, and relaxing environment for all couples, young adults under the age of 16 are not permitted inside the hamam.
Once the deposit is processed, your reservation is officially secured. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Rescheduling requests are subject to availability and management approval.
The Experience & Attire
Everything is meticulously provided for your absolute comfort. We offer premium, clean bikinis and shorts for ladies, and traditional shorts for gentlemen. However, you are more than welcome to bring and wear your own clean swimwear if preferred.
Yes. In strict accordance with the 500-year-old historic Ottoman tradition of the Süleymaniye Hamam, all professional attendants (tellak) are male.
Yes there are hair dryers. You can use free of charge.
Health & Technicality
The high heat (38–40°C) and elevated humidity levels are not recommended for pregnant guests, or individuals suffering from heart conditions, asthma, and severe blood pressure fluctuations. Your safety is our absolute priority.
We proudly preserve the original structural genius of Mimar Sinan. The hamam is sustainably heated from beneath the marble floors using a traditional subterranean heating system (külhan) by oak wood fires, allowing the heat to radiate naturally since 1550 for 24 Hours.
